Here is a 1967′ PlayMor camper for sale. Is this adorable or what!!? I think the pink is just so sweet looking! I know many of you are looking for a small, cute canned ham. Could this be the one you have been searching for? It’s 10 1/2 ft plus the tongue. The seller has the title & keys in hand.

Info from the seller about the camper:
“Lots of new frame wood, new paint in & out & no leaks. All trim & windows have been resealed. Good tires, brand new Marti 5×5 awning, front dinette & rear sofabed area. Lots of jalousie windows. It has a two burner cook top, porcelain sink & the original icebox. The cushions & curtains come with the camper & yes of course the awning. There is a propane tank,  a spare tire, and a small propane lamp inside also. There is a new vinyl floor, (a charcoal color). The propane cooktop has not been used in about 5 yrs or so. There were two patches in the front on the skin when we purchased it. We’re not sure if there were lights there or not at one time, but we just had the patches painted over and did not remove them.. I will explain all if anyone is interested and send lots of pics to them. Title and keys in hand.”

Location: Richmond, Virgina.

Price: $3850.

1951 Cozy Cruiser Vintage Trailer For Sale

$
0
0

{This trailer is now SOLD} OK folks, here is a real cutie for sale. I personally love the Cozy Cruisers and almost had one last year but it didn’t pan out. The Cozy Cruiser is a predecessor of the Shasta. Before Shasta started building the common Shasta models many of you know of today (Compact, Airflyte, Astrodome, etc.,) the company started out building the Cozy Cruiser. Gail, the owner of this one has made the hard decision to find her’s a new home. Here is information from her about the trailer, photos and her contact information for anyone interested.

Info from the seller about the camper:

I’m one of the original Sisters on the fly; #103. Eleven years ago my 1951 “Cozy” (10 ft long x 6 ft wide, 1,686 lbs) was shipped to me via The Horseless Carriage Classic Car Transportation from its lifetime home in Southern California. The trailer has the original manufactures’ logo on the outside, baby moon hubs, Beach wood interior (no leak marks), floor (no known rot) and a new outside paint job and two propane tanks. The like new Coker Tires are tube replicas of the originals. I also added street legal tail lights on the rear, front and the hitch. The best convenience is a hydraulic lift…just a flip of the switch lifts and lowers it. I also added another outlet inside. It arrived with a new roof vent.
It has a lot of other original features: screen door, shelves, pump handle sink, cupboards/shelves, inside/outside lights, ice box (not a fridge), dual propane burner hot plate (working fine, some sisters install an oven) and heater (never used by me), towel racks, long closet w/hanging clothes pole and mirror and drawers under the double bed (new mattress and box spring). The reupholstered dinning area couches/pillows are in a new vintage print and it has the original drop down table that doubles as a twin bed. As I already mentioned, it has a mirrored closet that some sisters turn into a bathroom…totally do-able! It also has the ORIGINAL awning (it has a one inch area where the stitching has separated from the casing, a simple sew!) w/ stakes, poles, beautiful like new wood picnic table that attaches to the outside, jacks, outside light and plug-ins. I know I’m missing something…oh yes, it has a new 5,000 btu a/c hidden inside the storage area with just one classy vent hole under the inside closet. I promise you, it will cool you off to the point that you’ll reach for the covers! I do not know of anything that leaks, drips, etc.
It was a one family owned trailer purchased new by two married artists who traveled around The United States, Mexico and Canada selling their water colors to finance their trips, thus all the 1950′s mint condition water transfers over the top and sides of the inside front door, over 50 of them…a step back into mid-twentieth century, all too precious and terminally cute. When the couple died, their son and his family didn’t want the trailer so they sold it to a car dealer who immediately repainted it the original colors and sold it to me. I am actually the second owner! It has always been stored by the original family and me in covered (my garage) or a semi-open RV storage facility.
My Cozy is going to be featured in a Vintage Travel Trailer Calendar either in 2014 or 2015. The professional artist chose my Cozy out of over 3,000 members’ trailers as “the perfect vintage trailer” for the calendar.
I have the title and I also have it insured. I also have the original file folder that I started 11 years ago when I first purchased the trailer with the sellers name, phone and all important information and notes from over the past years. The folder also has the trailers’ official weight record from the local Flying J Truck Stop.
I do not have any painted murals on the outside like most sisters do, so you can do that yourself if you wish. I also stayed with vintage ’50′s decor inside instead of the sister’s usual cowgirl/fishing theme. However, its a “blank canvas” for you to decorate.

The ONLY reason I am selling my trailer is because after all these years my 1991 diesel car w/300,000 miles under her hood is starting to complain about towing. However I don’t know what the cars’ attitude is really about, as the trailer is very light and during years past both she and I have actually forgotten it was in tow. I guess even cars earn some special considerations/privileges as they age.

Please note that all personal and/or decor items are not included with the sale of the trailer.

61 Shasta Compact “Buttercup” For Sale

$
0
0

This cutie is now SOLD. Ah, yes I know it’s hard to believe that I’m actually putting Buttercup up for sale! It’s a hard decision and I may change my mind and pull the ads at anytime! My reason for selling her is simple because I have another dream I’d like to pursue and while I don’t HAVE to sell her to make that dream happen, it would likely happen quicker if I did sell her. That dream is to find an buy a piece of property. We are actually thinking about maybe something over on Lake Michigan that has a 2-4 acres, maybe with a small cabin already on it….a place where we can take our other trailer and camp or invite friends and family to come and camp with us! Just our own little get-a-way place. Anyway….so if you are interested in Buttercup, you probably need to not hesitate because I can’t guarantee that I won’t have second thoughts on selling her.

So on with the info…. Use the links below to view the cooresponding photos.

This trailer has been renovated and is camp ready. It’s been used by American Greetings in a photo shoot last fall for a possible new product line. This trailer does NOT leak and I’ve not seen any evidence that it ever did leak. I know, I know. . .they all must leak at some point right? But honestly. . .come look for yourself and you’ll see what I mean. There are no signs that I can find on the interior wood that this trailer ever leaked. It has a large closet with shelving that I added and still plenty of room for a port-a-potti or luggable loo. The following has been done (photo documentation available). I had the restoration shop check and fix the propane lines to the stove and both the stove and oven work. Although I never used them and not sure they were actually used at all to be honest as it’s so clean! The water lines to the sink all look intact and again I never used the sink.
Rear skin replaced with new skin. See photos here: http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2011/02/shasta-compact-renovation-coming-along/

Interior wash (this trailer wasn’t birch but a very pale ash so we added a pale yellow wash to the interior to freshen it up). See what the trailer interior originally looked like here: http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2010/12/61-shasta-compact/

Door painted with chalkboard paint. See photos here: http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/03/how-to-paint-your-vintage-trailer-door-with-chalkboard-paint/

Diamond plate added to the front (not because there was damage, but because I love the look of diamond plate and the protection it offers the front). See photos here: http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/03/adding-diamond-plate-to-your-trailer/ and http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/04/vintage-compact-gets-some-technology/ to see that we added a bit more as it wasn’t quite tall enough the first go round.

New professionally covered cushions. These were covered in a palm tree motif. I have since covered them in a temporary fashion with aqua fabric. This can be easily removed if you wish and the original cushions revealed. The dinette converts to king size bed. This bed is huge! We’ve slept 4 people on this bed (2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2011/04/how-to-convert-two-single-beds-into-one/

Also comes with a redone canvas cot. Perfect for a child.

New professional paint job 2 years ago. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2011/03/61-shasta-compact-gets-new-paint-job/

Interior wood and framing of door rebuilt. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2011/03/61-shasta-compact-exterior-door-rebuild/ and http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QBvTC4pR6T0/TpwoLjun3YI/AAAAAAAACeA/rTCnlq9bde8/s1600/Buttercup.jpg (note, this is before we painted the interior of the door in chalkboard paint).

New black and white checkered flooring

Large closet with room for a port-a-potty. Shelving installed in the back of closet (not shown)

The stove has been professionally re-porcelained in aqua (it used to be brown). NOT painted! Reporcelained is where they fire the color on at 1200 degrees. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/02/before-after-vintage-stove-porcelain/

Bearings re-packed, Newer tires and Baby moon hubcaps All the work done on this trailer was done by a restoration shop. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2011/04/vintage-shasta-compact-renovation-is/ I then added my own touches and décor to the trailer as you see it now.

ALWAYS stored in an enclosed covered carport. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/06/new-poll-how-many-vintage-campers-do-you-own/

We have thoroughly enjoyed this trailer! Now it’s time to let someone else enjoy our little Buttercup!

Buttercup weighs 1160 lbs and tows great!

Optional items NOT included in selling price but willing to negotiate if buyer should want them:

* Like new awning and add-a-room by Marti – http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/03/new-awning-add-a-room-by-martis-awnings/
* 19 inch flat screen TV and separate DVD player with remote – http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/04/vintage-compact-gets-some-technology/
* Front window rock guard that I had made from one that came off of a different vintage trailer.

CLEAR TITLE IN HAND. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE. I’m not in a hurry to sell and to be honest if she doesn’t sell I’m OK with that as well. So I won’t entertain low offers.

Location: Just north of Toledo, Ohio

Rare 1967 Cardinal “Flipper” travel trailer in very good condition ready for a new home. I’ve not seen another like this. Rather than the typical flat roof of the late ’60 and early ’70s Cardinals, a sweeping roofline drops to the integrated fin at the rear cabin, giving a unique and sporty look. 7′ wide, 14′ tongue to tail, cabin is 11′ long. Original wood paneled interior and appliances, upgraded electrical and propane systems installed less than 3 years ago.

Kitchen along the front wall with original 3-burner Wedgwood stove-top, Formica counter, under-counter icebox, and matching turquoise sink with Formica cover. Sassy tea towel curtains and vintage kitchen accessories included.

Black and white checked floor is in good condition. Original propane lamp warms as well as lights the cabin. Additional lighting runs off battery or hookup.

The large lounge/dining area is wrapped in windows for plenty of light. Original wood paneling on the walls and ceiling show a history of water damage common to trailers of this age, but now glow with fresh restoration. Double banquet benches and a large dining table in great condition provide seating for 6. The long cushions of each bench fold over one another to form an integrated backrest, unbroken seating and a secure sleeping area (no cushions sliding all over the place). Bed measures 82′ wide by 73″ long. The foam and upholstery are in excellent condition. No cigarette smoke. More storage in bench seats. Lined, vintage print curtains in like-new condition. Vent and windows work. No broken or cracked panes.

Exterior is in good condition, showing some wear, and is ready to hit the road for it’s next tour. Door swings and locks smoothly, porch light brightens the entryway, lots of wear left on the tires. A solid rear bumper holds an included spare tire, but could also support a bike rack, storage box, etc. Roof has been scraped, resealed and painted with multiple coats of rubberized paint. Frame is solid. Like new sun cloth custom canopy by Marti’s Canopies with color coordinated outdoor rug. Handsome dual propane tanks with color match, turquoise accents. 1971 Aristrocrat For Sale

I really like the layout that this Aristrocrat trailer offers. I was telling the seller that I think I have bunk envy because I just love that overhead bunk in the rear. I wish our trailer had one! In any case, here is what the seller says about this Aristrocrat:

Here is an Aristocrat trailer that has vintage  classic lines, which makes it a stand out from the rest. This fantastic  travel trailer is totally contained. The striking aqua and white  exterior and the mostly original vintage interior make this a one of a  kind camper. The exterior of the Lo-Liner was notable for the large windows on all  sides of the trailer. The trailers were extremely well-built with  aircraft construction techniques,(metal I beams) and many are still on  the road all over North America. The Aristocrat has original wood paneling which is in great condition. I didn’t have the heart to paint it.  It also has lots of storage, including a closet for your clothes and  another closet to put your own porta potty in to make it a bathroom.  Original Formica counter tops in Avocado green, stainless steel sink  with counter hand pump and exclusive wide sweep faucet  110 electric. The camper has been sealed and painted. No leaks. A small area of water damage in the dinette corner has been repaired. tows great!! Tiny house on wheels! Use for camping, a guest house, office,  backyard get-away, emergency shelter, or play house for the kids.

If you are looking for a restored Shasta with a bathroom, then this one might just be the one. Here is what the owners say about it.

“Moose, as he is lovingly called, is a 16’ camper that will sleep 5. He was restored in 2005. The restoration included exterior paint, new propane tank, tires, vinyl floor tiles, formica counter tops, and new couch/bed & front booth/bed cushions and covers. The original wood walls and cabinets were re-stained.

Moose comes with the original hammock, awning and outdoor attachable outdoor picnic table, cabinets, stove and refridgerator and bathroom, all which are in working order. It also has the original globe to the gas lamp – very hard to find. There is a floor to ceiling cabinet and other several other storage areas with the original hardware.
